iPhone 15 Pro Max, Always On Display enabled.
When ARC is in the foreground, even if not doing SDL and not playing, the phone screen stays at full brightness and awake seemingly forever. Still does it after a reboot.

Hi, @Suedkiez, thank you for the report! What is your screen automatic lock time setting?
Thanks!

30 seconds, the shortest that Apple offers
@ivan and I did make sure that I didn’t keep it awake by staring at it (because I do have Attention Aware enabled). In the exact same position, far away from my face, it consistently turns off after 30 secs if ARC is NOT in the foreground, but doesn’t if it is.
Hi @Suedkiez!
Can you, please, try rebooting your phone, and let us know if the issue persists? Thanks!
I did,
and now I tried it again, still the same
Thanks for confirming that it was the phone. We’ll try to reproduce and investigate the issue.
Hi, @Suedkiez. Could you, please, reboot ARC, and check if the issue is still reproducible? Thanks!
Yes, same with ARC B274 and ROCK B1415, after rebooting everything. With every other app in the foreground and the phone off to the side (no attention), iOS dims the screen after 20 seconds and locks it after 30. With ARC in the foreground it does neither. ARC doesn’t perform any active SDL and isn’t playing.
Thanks for checking!
My iPhone 15 Pro dims at 20 and goes dark at 30 when not playing or downloading
Thanks. Do you have Attention Aware enabled? I guess there must be some difference in the settings (though I didn’t change much from defaults, but some I did)
Yes I do have it enabled
Hey, @Suedkiez! I would kindly ask you to check again if the issue still exists. Thank you!
@Oleh, I tried again with B274 and I found new info:
Side note: While playing around with this, I found something curious. Maybe it is of interest to you, I have never seen it mentioned on the forum. It seems like my Fritzbox sends a WOL command to the ROCK when there is ARC access. At least this is the only explanation I have:
This is pretty cool
Hey, @Suedkiez! Wow, that’s an interesting detail. Can I ask you to disable WOL, at least temporarily, and check the presence of the wake lock issue? I believe this might help to narrow down the investigation. Thank you!
@Oleh It makes no difference. The Fritzbox indeed has a feature to send a WOL packet to a device that’s configured with port forwarding. I suppose I must have turned this on when setting up ARC (or maybe it’s on by default): Starting network devices over the internet (Wake on LAN) | FRITZ!Box 7590 | AVM International. (It actually also enables this when accessed from the LAN, not just from the internet).
However, after turning this off and confirming that ARC now could not wake the ROCK anymore, ARC in the foreground still prevented the phone from dim & lock, IF the ROCK was running. As before, if the ROCK was turned off (and not WOL’ed by ARC), then the dim & lock works fine.
As an additional test, just because this was all I could think of, I turned off FaceID > Attention Aware as well as Always On Display, and this didn’t make a difference either - just as expected after Norman_Spector’s above comment.
@oleh I can’t repro this anymore, now with iOS 18.1 and ARC B309. Not sure what, if anything, caused the change, but I’m going to mark this as solved.
Hey @Suedkiez ! Nice! I am glad to hear that. Thanks for letting us know.
