ARC cannot prioritize recent additions in Smart Playlist (ref#VYYYRD)

What’s happening?

· I have a Roon ARC issue not related to connecting to to the server

Describe the issue

No problem with Roon and can use Arc on my mobile device (iPhone iPad.
My Issue.
I flag songs (not albums) with a heart symbol. Lets call this a Fav track.
I create a Smart Playlist which has all my Fav's.
Smart PlayList is sorted by Date Added.

The problem... no matter how I try to use / config arc... I cannot get it to play the most recent addittions first. It means I have to wait for 212 tracks to play to reach my most recent fav.

Typically...I am keen to listen to my most recent 10-20 favs .. as that is my new music and keen to listen to.

I have tried the sort with the arrow up and down (in Roon). This successfully sorts the list into the required sequence... and I can see the actual sequence of tracks.

I would be critical of the Arc interface... in that

a. Not clear if Arc has been refreshed by Roon and is up to date.
b. When using playlists .. no obvious way to sort in ascending / decending sequence of "when added".

This may all be poor handling on my behalf... but I am good at solving complex end user problems..



Is there a trick to force a resynch of the Smart Playlist to ensure it reflects what Roon Server

I can see this issue here now… so will await a response.

Update.

I can get the correct sequence in my iPad… (rarely use for Arc)… but still not correct on my iPhone.

How can I refresh Arc on iPhone. I have 1 TB iPhone and only a fraction of storage used.

Easy solution.

Just allow refresh(ie drag down the screen and let go) to update the playlist as per the Roon server settings. No need to transfer files back and forth just refresh the sequence.

Easy (Better) Solution 2.

Make it easy to sort playlists (incl Smart Playlists ) inside the Arc app.

Either way… there should be a method to allow me resynch my smart playlist so it matches the Roon server … even if I have to do than manually.

I know you have a much deeper understanding of the various layers involved… and because this is VIP… I am optimistic of a good outcome.

I will not pester you… but happy to check anything on my setup if that is of use.

Thanks for the feedback! We’ll discuss this with the product team further, as Arc is sorting by Date Added - but in the reverse order of what you’re wanting (oldest first).

This is already a feature in Arc - you can drag down the screen to push a refresh.

Refresh of Smart Favourite list NOT working on iPhone… but working on iPad.

That is unfortunate

…as I use Arc on my iPhone… connected to car audio or headphone in airplanes.

I checked and Arc (on iPhone ) connected to Roon.. so refresh should work.

I can clearly see on Roon that the Smart List is sorting as I wish.. ie newest additions are first to play.
