ARC: CarPlay Playlist Sort Doesn't Match

Hi @benjamin

I conducted some further testing and updated four playlists by adding a single new song to each. The playlists range from 120 to 470 songs, and all had been previously downloaded.

Now, I can find all four playlists in the download area while using CarPlay. However, the sorting by “Date Downloaded” isn’t functioning as expected. On the phone, ARC correctly sorts the playlists by “Date Downloaded,” but this sorting method seems to be ignored in CarPlay.

So, while CarPlay now displays all downloaded playlists regardless of their size, the sorting in CarPlay is not consistent with the sorting in the app itself.

By the way, working with these playlists is still very tedious because every time I add new songs, I have to manually move each one to the correct position (artist (A-Z) / album (by year) / track per album (1-X)). Bulk moving of songs is still not possible

Thanks for the thorough response, @Arne!

Since you’re running the Early Access build, I’m going to move this latest symptom description there.

Please provide a screenshot of the sorting on the Playlist page in ARC, and if possible, a photo of the sort order in CarPlay (with the vehicle safely stopped).

Thanks!

Hi @connor

Attached is a photo of the download screen on the ARC app, displayed on both iPhone and CarPlay. While the sorting on the iPhone appears correct, CarPlay does not recognize the updated playlists. The downloads in CarPlay are sorted in a way by “date downloaded”, but e.g. all updated playlists are missing.
