Describe the issue

ARC only connects if Firewall OFF now. Exception for Roon was created years ago and remains in Firewall/Options, but ARC no longer connects unless Firewall turned off.

Hi @SVinTO,

Thank you for your post.

Can you please clarify which firewall you’re referring to? Your MacOS firewall, a third-party firewall from software you’ve installed, or your router’s firewall, accessible from the router settings page?

To be clear, if you’re referring to your router firewall, it is absolutely essential that you keep the firewall on. This is your network’s primary defense layer, and your devices will be defenseless without it.

What is the specific diagnostic code you see in Settings → ARC within Roon when your firewall is on?

You can likely create a manual rule that permits encrypted Roon traffic to pass through a specific port. Do you have a second router in this setup, or just the Bell-provided gateway?

We’ll watch for your reply. Thank you!
