I’m on Android (Samsung).
More often than not, when I try to view the queue to find out which Roon Radio is currently playing (which is not the radio I selected because it somehow resets itself, which is another issue) the app completely freezes and requires a restart (although the music continues playing).
I can also confirm this error. Tapping the queue icon will immediately freeze the app (although music continues to play) and I will need to restart Arc to continue using the UI.
Using iPhone 13 Pro Max, happens on WiFi and cellular data.
If it happens on iPhone too I’m surprised we’re not seeing more complaints on this issue
I’ve had problems with drop outs and freezes intermittently since arc came out. The first time I used it, it worked well for an entire 6 hour car trip. Then started have trouble, which I attributed to my underpowered roon core, and increasing size and quality upgrades in my library.
I upgraded desktop mobo and processor to gen 12 i5. New motherboards have m2 nvme slots too I discovered, so added 1 tb M2 ssd. Then moved my core back to desktop, which is also directly connected to modem, vs mesh Wi-Fi before.
So everything is blazing now, running pretty well around town,I was looking forward to next road trip. Arc started freezing after 1 to 2 songs right away and got progressively worse throughout the trip. To where it locked up almost immediately after each restart. I realized what we have is a memory leak or at minimum some kind of library maintenance bug. I uninstalled arc and reinstalled just now, and things seem back to normal. I guess we’ll see on the return drive tomorrow.
Bottom line, this behavior points to something filling up on arc that progressively limits the resources available until it locks up completely. Reinstalling frees all those resources. I noticed the Reset Roon Arc button on the bottom of the settings screen last night, but arc was so frozen by that time I couldn’t press it. I see it deletes downloaded music. I’m curious what else it resets. Is arc storing a lot of other information locally? If so that is a likely culprit for this resource drain. Seems arc wouldn’t need much local info, can get what it needs from Roon core. Or maybe it is just a plain memory leak.
Regardless, next time it starts to get sluggish, I’ll try that reset button first before reinstalling arc.
Edit. Forgot to mention I have iPhone and core is on windows 10.
