Hallo zusammen, ich richte mich mal an die deutschen User, weil nur die werden überhaupt die Konstellation Fritz!Box - Deutsche Glasfaser - Roon haben. Ich bekomme das mit dieser Port Geschichte einfach nicht hin. Der Roon Server läuft auf einem Mac Mini von 2012, wo maximal das Betriebssystem Catalina drauf läuft. Und unter diesem Betriebssystem läuft offenbar Tailscale nicht. Gibt es irgendeine Möglichkeit, ARC dennoch zum Laufen zu bekommen? Und vor allem bekommt das ein Nutzer hin, der kein IT Experte ist?
Ich bin für jede Hilfe sehr dankbar.

Sehr wahrscheinlich liegt hier die bekannte CG-NAT-Situation bei Deutsche Glasfaser vor. In diesem Fall funktioniert klassisches Port-Forwarding an der Fritz!Box in der Regel nicht zuverlässig, was erklärt, warum ARC nicht erreichbar ist.

Als mögliche Alternative möchten wir noch Folgendes erwähnen:

Tailscale unterstützt macOS 10.15 Catalina offiziell bis einschließlich Version 1.70.
Laut Tailscale ist Version 1.70 die letzte Version, die Catalina unterstützt, kann aber weiterhin installiert und verwendet werden:

1.70.0

Damit besteht die Möglichkeit, ARC auch ohne Port-Weiterleitungen zu nutzen, sofern Tailscale auf dem Mac mini installiert wird.

Bitte beachte, dass macOS Catalina von Apple nicht mehr unterstützt wird und zukünftige Updates oder Änderungen (seitens Tailscale, Roon ARC oder der Betriebssysteme auf Mobilgeräten) diese Konstellation beeinflussen könnten.

Du kannst es aber auf jeden Fall ausprobieren, indem du Tailscale v1.70 installierst und ARC damit testest.

Sollte das nicht zum gewünschten Ergebnis führen, besprechen wir gern alternative Optionen mit dir.

Regarding the message you’re seeing in Roon → Settings → ARC, this can be safely ignored in your case. That warning relates to traditional port forwarding and public internet reachability.

Since your Mac is not directly reachable from the internet, Roon reports this message. However, when using Tailscale, this is expected behavior — Tailscale effectively creates a secure virtual local network.

As long as Tailscale is enabled on both the Mac running Roon Server and the remote device, and both are logged into the same Tailscale account, Roon ARC should be able to connect normally.

Please let us know if ARC connects successfully once both devices are online via Tailscale.
