Description of Issue

My wife’s phone was loaded up with all the albums she wanted for our trip to and from Japan. On the way there all functioned well, She initialised ARC before putting her phone in flight mode and the app going offline.,

On the way back from Japan her phone was in flight mode before she launched ARC. ARC then stalled looking for a roon core. She was unable to listen to any of her tracks. Fiddling with it only managed to delete all her downloads… So she had no music just when she needed it most.

Did not make me popular.

Nothing reproducable at this point as we are back - and have re-downloaded her music, so no enthusiasm for risking another DB wipe.

It does seem to me the app needs to do a better job at immediately recognising lack of internet connectivity and just popping itself into offline mode automatically. (And ensuring the local DB is NEVER deleted unless there is a deliberate effort to do so!!!)

regards

It really doesn’t like being in offline mode before it manages a sync back home or maybe Roons
Servers for licensing . Been reported a lot yet nothing has been done. Happened to me a few times. I’ve given up relying on ARC for such things and gone back to my DAP. Does it when phones benn deliberately put in offline mode to and not called back for a while.

Hi @Roderick_Laird I’m sorry this happened. That’s not a great experience. Let’s unpack this so I can figure out what went wrong.

Do you recall for how long the phone was in offline mode for? When you say offline mode, was it the switch within ARC’s settings or was it putting the phone itself into airplane mode?

Regarding the database being wiped, did you ever “reset” ARC? Big red text at the bottom of settings. Doing so will wipe all locally stored downloads.
