Description of Issue

ARC mystery: iPad M1 Pro connects, iPhone 15 Pro Max does not connect, same iPhone 15 Pro Max Roon app works just fine.

Context: This is all on my home Wifi network. I have rebooted the router, rebooted the Roon server, and rebooted my iPhone.

Roon works fine on my iPhone 15 Pro Max:

Roon Arc works on my iPad Pro M1 1TB, with the exception of frequent amnesia ‘synching for the first time’:

Roon Arc does not work at all on my iPhone 15 Pro Max 1TB:

All versions of Roon on PC, Mac, iPad claim in settings that ARC is ready. Also, this is inside the firewall. For good measure, I have also added port forwarding on the firewall. I have turned off cellular on the iPad and iPhone to avoid network routing confusion. I have turned off Windows Firewall on the Roon Server completely.

At this point, I’m stuck. I would love to enjoy ARC on my iPhone.

Any suggestions?

Update: I deleted the Roon ARC app on my phone, and reinstalled from the app store. It is now connecting to the Roon Core.

Hi @mzbe,

Thank you for the update. Please let us know if this returns. Private WiFi settings on the iOS device can sometimes interfere with local network connections in Roon ARC, depending on the iOS version you’re using.

Unexpected to me was - 1. Roon (not ARC) was working; 2. Uninstalling ARC & reinstalling solved the issue.
Key takeaway: The logical explanation seems to be that it is possible for ARC’s local data to become corrupted, preventing connection to the core. Hence the success in ‘cleansing’ said data via brute force uninstall?
