ARC Library displays Albums but not Artists with error 'Something went wrong' (ref#31GA0L)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· I have an ARC issue in that in 'Library' Albums display but 'Artists' won't and I'm given an error message 'Something went wrong'. Running ARC 1.75.400 (build 100400), ROC OS Version 2.1 (build 271) Server Software Version 2.64 (build 1646).

I get the same error message on 'Tracks', 'Composers', and 'Compositions'.

I have changed phones, but everything else works as before....

Tell us about your home network

· I'm on Sky Broadband. I use Tailscale. Everything else works fine.

Hi @Chris_Speed,

Thanks for writing in! We’re unfortunately not seeing any Arc activity tied to your mobile device.

Could you please remove Arc and perform a fresh install over stable wifi, and see if the same issues occur? I’m hoping this will provide us with fresh diagnostic information.

We’ll be monitoring for your reply, thank you! :folded_hands:

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled ARC.

Still getting the same error.

Chris

ARC is still working but I got this from the ROON interface

{
“ipv4_connectivity”: {“status”:“NetworkError”,“status_code”:504,“error”:“error code: 504”},
“external_ip”: {“actual_external_ip”:“94.aaa.bbb.aaa”,“actual_external_ipv6”:“null”,“router_external_ip”:“192.168.0.2”},
“status”: “status”: MultipleNatFound
,
“natpmp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”},
“upnp_autoconfig”: {“server_ip”:“192.168.68.1”,“found_upnp”:true},
“multinat_autoconfig”: {“status”:“Failed”,“error”:“Network Trace Failed”}
}

This error message is irrelevant if you use Tailscale and you can ignore it. This error refers to port forwarding and Tailscale circumvents all port forwarding.

(It’s confusing and shouldn’t be shown if Tailscale is in use. Roon Labs have stated that they are working on this, but until this is done, it would be nice if they could at least add some text to it, „Ignore this if using Tailscale“. This isn’t hard or much work)

Thanks for clarifying,

Chris

Hi @Chris_Speed,

Thanks for checking that.

We still are not seeing any activity in logging from your mobile device in diagnostics, the next thing we need to rule out is anything on the device or network side that could interfere with ARC, including VPNs or similar tools.

Please let us know if you are using any VPNs or other tools that could be blocking parts of ARC from working properly. We’ll take it from there.

I have Avast VPN installed and was using it.

I’ve turned it off now and will see if it makes a difference.

Chris

Everything seems to be working now. Not sure if it was the VPN.

Many thanks for all the support

Chris

Hi @Chris_Speed,

Great to hear everything is working now. We’ll mark this thread for closure, and if the VPN was the cause, turning it off would fit with what we were seeing. Enjoy your Roon experience! :slightly_smiling_face:
