As it stands, it looks like you have not setup any port forwarding. If this is the case, you will have to either:

  • Setup a port forward to forward TCP connections on port 55000 to the ip address of your Roon Server (10.10.1.99)

or:

  • Setup Tailscale to create a tunnel that ARC on your mobile can use to access your Roon Server when away from home.

Hi @anon38974048,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. @Wade_Oram is guiding you in the right direction. Please try what he recommended. If you are still having trouble after that please clarify what steps you have taken so far.

Thanks for your help. The issue was indeed related to setting up NAT correctly and ensuring port forwarding was configured properly. Once I set up a static (or fixed) IP for the Mac Mini running Roon Server and forwarded TCP connections on port 55000 to that address, ARC was able to connect reliably.

For anyone troubleshooting similar issues, I’d recommend:

  • Ensuring the Roon Server has a static or reserved IP address within your local network to prevent changes that might break port forwarding.
  • Double-check that NAT and firewall rules aren’t blocking external access to the forwarded port.
