Description of Issue

So I have downloaded around 500 tracks to Arc and have happily been using it for the last four months in offline mode while away from home on trips ranging from a few days to four weeks. I’ve had no problems (apart from the usual artwork disappearing!) until last week when I started getting a “Cannot connect to Core” error message when opening the App.

I have not configured my Core for access outside of my home network, so it obviously can’t do this and I now have no access to my downloaded music.

Any idea what is going on? Why is it trying to connect to the Core when in Offline mode?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi @Stephen_Salisbury,

Please accept our sincere apologies for the delayed response to your inquiry.

Your unfortunate experience with offline use of ARC is most likely a consequence of the new security and authentication features (the introduction of Single-Sign-On to both Roon and ARC) as part of the release that took place around the time of your report.

ARC will function offline as long as the session remains authenticated with your RoonServer (Core) machine. If you restart ARC or Roon, then you’ll need to reauthenticate your single-sign-on account in ARC. This requires a connection to your RoonServer, the core of your ecosystem, and thus the message you’ve encountered.

We’re happy to answer any questions.
