arc will not start, if data roaming is disabled.
it’s really problematic (cost intensive) to enable data roaming just for startig arc in my car. I have only a mobile contract for germany/EU countries. But I’m often drive in switzerland and the cost/mb is horrific.
I can start ARC on the phone if WiFi, cellular data, and roaming are all disabled. Is this different if using CarPlay / Android Auto?
You make a good point about the ridiculous roaming costs in Switzerland for EU citizens with EU roaming. Even people located in EU countries near the Swiss border need to be vigilant because if the phone autoconnects to a Swiss cell tower the roaming charges can literally bankrupt you if it goes on for longer, and even a few quick data packets can cost tens of euros.

Spotify does with playlists. I download Spotify playlists to my Garmin watch and listen offline via bluetooth headphones when exercising. I think it checks with Spotify every so often that there is still an account and that the playlists are up to date.

I voted for this as well… I fly often, like 50-90 times a year and I would love to be able to search for music in offline mode. Also list by artists etc. and not just a bunch of albums.
I miss the search functionality in Andoird Auto too, it’s hopeless to not be able to search for stuff.

Would still like this to be added to Arc but in the end gave up and bought a DAP !
For what it’s worth I use Qobuz on my iPhone and download music I might want to listen to offline. Doesn’t cost any more than the cost of your streaming plan and a modern phone has ample storage for hundreds if not thousands of hours of music. If I want a decent quality I plug a Chord Mono in.

For those of us that do not use streaming services, this is not an option.
Roon should (and hopefully they will, especially based on the Arc survey they did last year) implement a full solution for offline listening. This also should (needs) to include a solution to download content onto memory cards for android devices. Would love to be able to use my Fiio m11 for offline listening. Especially beneficial when traveling.
Plexamp just released a new preview version with what appears full offline support - search etc
Wonder if Arc will someday ?
