ARC on Android never worked until clearing app cache

The error handling on ARC for Android needs attention - it never worked for me, with a vague message about “your server is online but there is a problem etc. etc.” I am not the only person having this issue. I updated everything to the latest, plus disconnected ARC and reconnected, no dice. Finally I saw this:

I was never able to get ARC to work on my Motorola Razr 3. I bought a new Motorola Edge + and after I transferred my data and apps to my new phone again ARC didn’t work BUT after I cleared the app’s cache it works. So maybe there is some phone specific compatibility issues? Or clearing the cache of the app is the magic fix. I"m going to try that on my wife’s Iphone because it’s never worked on her phone ever. She has an Iphone 10 or 11. We’ll see.

After I cleared the app cache, it worked.
The error messaging in the Roon ARC app itself could at least suggest clearing the app cache, if Roon can’t fix the actual issue.

For those with the same problem:

• Close ARC.
• Go to Settings > Apps.
• Select the ARC app.
• Tap on “Storage & Cache” and choose “Clear cache”.
• Open ARC again.

You know I had that error and just restarted my phone and it worked. Nice t9 know how to fix it without turning off the phone.
