Hi,
I already saw several posts on ARC overheating and fast battery drain, but it looks not solved.
I have an iPhone 14 Pro. I use Arc both travelling (4G + Bluetooth to either CarPlay or Bose headphones) or at Home (WiFi + AirPlay to my DAC).
I only use streaming from my Rock (Qobuz) or downloaded music (I don’t use smart download).
The phone gets very hot quickly and kills the battery. If the phone is not plugged, it drains the battery in 2 to 3 hours. And when plugged, the message “charging paused due to overheating” appears time to time.
Is there a software improvement in the pipes that solves this big issue ?
Thanks!
Do you have any Muse DSP enabled/active?
Same here on the iPhone 13 mini.
no DSP enabled or activated.
That’s the reason for not using Roon ARC on my phone.
I try it regularly but always the same high battery drain and overheating issues.
There is clearly still work to be done. Yesterday they released a test version in Early Access that includes an improvement - but to be seen if this is the solution or more is necessary in future updates. (The Early Access builds usually take a week or two until they are released in the production update channel)
