ARC Podcast Mystery

I use ARC when traveling for music, but also frequently listen to podcasts. You have a long uninterrupted time behind the wheel, so why not?

I have podcasts housed in the Roon core library, tag them as podcasts, and have them bookmarked for access. They are all 128/mp3 - lowfi.

Here’s the problem: I have five podcasts stored all with multiple episodes. All stream well in ARC but one, Andrew Hickey’s “The History of Rock in 500 Songs”, which I highly recommend for any rock obsessives who want to find out about the recording of historic songs.

All the episodes of HR500S show up in ARC in my core, but when I try to play one…nothing. ARC shows the small equalizer playing and the seconds going by, but no sound! (And, yes, the volume is turned up). So it isn’t that ARC can’t find the podcast in the core library. Playing an episode through Roon through any endpoint works perfectly, just not in ARC.

Other podcasts I have don’t have this problem, just this one. Any ideas?

Can you provide a link to this particular podcast episode so that the rest of us can see whether we can hear it or not? Thanks.

Of course - here’s the website:
https://500songs.com/
I think it also available from the Apple Store and Amazon.

Again, the problem isn’t listening to it in general, it is listening to it over ARC. It may be the files, or it may be something on my end with how it is catalogued or my phone (OnePlus 7T, Android)

Hmm, I’ve just downloaded episode 164 (“White Light/White Heat” by the Velvet Underground) and put it into my Roon Library.

It’s playing fine via ARC for me…
