ARC: Poor Connection Popup after Updating to ARC MUSE release [Update ARC]

I have a connectivity problem with ARC away from home I receive poor connection’ message. I then try Qobuz or Spotify and no issue is present. It’s particularly annoying, but doesn’t happen all the time. Any ideas on how to rectify please

@stefan_tylunas - Same here after update. Try to deinstall the apps and than reinstall them again. It works for me.

Thankyou for responding.
I’ll try that and see. Just updated for Muse but still connection issues.

Thanks Rick,
Following your advice Arc now works where once it didn’t

Hi @stefan_tylunas, @Torben_Rick,

Glad to hear it’s resolved for now. The team will pull diagnostics to try to determine whether the update triggered some sort of connectivity issue. Please let us know if you encounter any issues moving forward.

Hi @stefan_tylunas, @Torben_Rick,

We’re investigating this more deeply with QA. As a follow-up question, did either of you recently restore from a Backup on your Core (after updating to the most recent Roon build, for instance)?

No - that was not the case.

Here you have another case:

@connor - I don’t know of it helps you - but here another case:

Not the case for me either. Arc was always giving me connection issues over Qobuz or Spotify, before Muse update. In my case I believe it was just coincidental that after installing muse and then de-installing app and reinstall that those connection issues have resolved.

I have the same issue. No recent backups.

A moderator may like to bring these together. A reinstall sounds drastic so a simpler solution via update would be welcome.

Same problem here with ARC on iOS, with no recent restore from a Backup.

I reinstalled ARC and will give it a try tomorrow. I was quite sad to “lose” all my downloaded music in ARC, considering how long it takes to sync albums.

Had same issue on my Fiio M11 Plus DAP. Reinstall sorted it. No such issue on iPhone.

I had the same problem and the solution for me was also to update the Core.

Same here, been rock solid for months and now completely unusable. Core itself just seems to be running poorly too

I am having the same problem. But I have been having this problem since Roon Arc launched.

When I first setup arc it worked fine for a while. I don’t use it often though, and after a few weeks of not using it I got the poor connection message the next time I opened it and the error persists even on wifi at home where my core is located.

Resetting Arc makes it work again for a while, but the problem returns again if I don’t use it for a while and I have to go through the hassle of resetting again. I use Arc even less now because it rarely works when I want to use it.

The error message also seems to have nothing to do with what is actually going on. The connection to the core is not poor when I am at home, and the quality of the connection to the Roon servers doesn’t change when I reset Roon, but yet that temporarily fixes the problem.

It seems like it fails after either a certain amount of time has passed since last using it, or after enough things have changed in the library since Arc last synced (which would be more likely to happen after some time has passed since last using it).

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your patience and for your reports. The team has a high-priority ticket with QA and development and will post updates here.

We understand a reinstall is a circuitous and time-consuming workaround for users with significant local content saved to their phone. We should have more positive news soon.

Hi everyone,

Please update to the latest build of both Roon and ARC (ARC 1.0.4), which contains performance improvements and connectivity changes that should resolve this issue. Let us know if you’re still having difficulty. Thank you!

See here for more details: Roon 2.0.20 and ARC 1.0.41 are live!
