Arc port forwarding error: {“status”:“NetworkError”,“status_code”:504,“error”:“error: Error: ETIMEDOUT

I’ve got very similar diagnostics. Also had a sudden failure, though I’m using Tailscale, and it had been functioning properly previously:
{
“ipv4_connectivity”: {“status”:“NetworkError”,“status_code”:504,“error”:“error: Error: ETIMEDOUT, response code: undefined, body: undefined connected? undefined”},
“external_ip”: {“actual_external_ip”:“70.aaa.bbb.ccc”,“actual_external_ipv6”:“null”,“router_external_ip”:“null”},
“natpmp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”},
“upnp_autoconfig”: {“server_ip”:“192.168.50.1”,“found_upnp”:true,“error”:“doaction request return statuscode: UnknownError”}
}

It’s not a good idea to ask your own support questions in someone else’s support thread. Please start your own support request.

Although your symptoms may appear the same, they may have a different cause and trying to address two issues in the same thread just confuses everyone.

Thanks for letting me know. Just getting used to the protocols here.

Hi @williamcstephenson,

Thank you for your post. If you’re using Tailscale, you can disregard any status diagnostic messages in Roon Settings → ARC, which relates only to port forwarding.

The most recent diagnostics available to our servers from your RoonServer instance show it advertising a non-Tailscale IP address. I’d first verify that you’re using Tailscale end-to-end (on both your RoonServer machine and your phone).

Please share a screenshot of the Settings page in the ARC app, where you should see green or red lights indicating the status of the Cloud and Server connection.

Thank you!

Thanks for your help. Sorry, I’ve been out of town. I think my problem is that Tailscale isn’t enabled on my Roon Nucleus One. I’ve gotten into the Nucleus admin page, and into the “Enable Tailscale” area, but when I click on the button to “Sign into Tailscale” nothing happens. I’ve tried disabling pop-up blocking, but that doesn’t seem to work. I’ve got Tailscale on my Android phone and on my Windows machine, and I have an account. Not sure what the problem is at this point. Doesn’t seem like it should be this hard.

Ah, suddenly I’ve been able to get to to work. It’s looks like everything is connected via Tailscale now. I’ll check later on, using wifi elsewhere to see if I’ve got it running correctly, but I expect I will.
