ARC: Roon Radio Won't Start After Queuing Only A Playlist [Ticket In]

My ARC Radio doesn’t work most of the times - I constantly get the message "nothing similar to play " , but my Roon radio ( using the computer ) works perfectly. Am I the only one having this problem?

HI @Armando_Cruz,
Thanks for writing in to ask about this issue. I think the next step here is to enable some diagnostics on your account so our technical staff can get some more insight into what’s going on here.

However, before I enable this feature, I’d like to ask for your help ensuring we gather the right information.

First, can you please reproduce the issue once more and note the time at which the error occurs. Then respond here with that time, and I’ll make sure we review the diagnostics related to that timestamp.

Hi Daniel , thank you for your message. Just now , I tried to start radio without success - by clicking the 3 dots - and choosing Start radio option. Whatever music I try to start radio it doesn’t do anything . Before it used to give me the message “nothing similar to play “ , now it doesn’t do anything . This only happens with ARC radio, I always end up using Tidal at work. At home while using the desktop I have no problems with Roon radio.

Hi @Armando_Cruz,
Thanks for following up with that information. Unfortunately after 24 hours community doesn’t show us the exact time you posted. If you remember what time it happened please let us know. If not please reproduce it again and put the time it happened in your comment. Sorry about the timestamp confusion.

Hi Daniel, no worries , I tried yesterday (08/11/24) at 8:43 pm and 8:44 pm and I tried today ( 09/11/24 ) at 2:17 am and 2:18 am.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi @Armando_Cruz,

Thank you for your patience. We’ve identified the relevant error in diagnostics and will escalate to development.

Diagnostics indicate this error could be specific to certain pages. Does this error occur with particular frequency from a particular playlist, album, or genre page?

Hi Connor , not a problem . I cannot start Arc radio with any track of my playlists. But if I search for a new track - the arc radio will work through that track ( which I didn’t know ) . The radio doesn’t work only with the music that I kept on my playlists.

Hi @Armando_Cruz,
I wanted to give you a status update on your case. We have created a ticket with the developers for your case. They are looking into it. While I cannot give you an exact timeline we will let you know here when we know more. Thank you for your continued patience.

Cheers Daniel, thank you for the update.

Hi @Armando_Cruz,

This ticket remains in the queue with Development. We’ll post here as soon as an update is available.

Roon Radio should function if you use a non-playlist object as the “seed” track. If you add another track or album to the Queue after queueing a playlist, then Roon Radio should start as predicted after the queue completes.

Thanks Connor. Yes I know , I’m already doing that.

It’s important to stress the distinction for others reading the thread. What’s important here is the mechanism by which you added items to the Queue. If the last object in the queue was added as a subset of a playlist (queued by the Play button on a playlist page), then users can expect this bug to manifest.

We’ll post an update when the ticket merges in Early Access.
