Telus Fibre internet service, Telus supplied router, Mac mini M4 connected directly to router via ethernet, Roon ARC page shows network correctly configured.
Thank you for your post. We’ve activated ARC diagnostics and can see two points of failure:
First, the ARC session is losing authorization because it’s associating with a previous RoonServer instance. Did you recently restore a Backup or migrate your RoonServer? If you haven’t performed either of those recently, then have you gone a week or two without syncing ARC on your local WiFi network?
In any case, first try reinstalling the app. This will require redownloading local content, unfortunately, but will resolve all authorization issues.
The second failure point is a known, ticketed issue that development is fixing at this moment. Library file URL requests fail unexpectedly, preventing playback of content. A restart will possibly also resolve this temporarily, but you can expect a fix to release into Early Access within the next few builds.
Please see here for a broader discussion of the same symptoms:
I tried reinstalling the app and tried it this afternoon.
It connected right away and started playback immediately. However, at the start of the third track, playback stopped as the app tried to connect. I was not able to switch to other music, the app kept trying to connect without success. I was only able to play the first two tracks of the first album I tried.
I have now tried a couple more times while away from home. No connection at all. The settings section of the app says Port forwarding issue … please advise.
Hi @Derrick_McLeod,
That error message is telling us that automatic port forwarding failed and you will either need to manually port forward or to use Tailscale instead. This article will walk you through manual port forwarding and this article will walk you through setting up Tailscale. Most people find Tailscale easier so I’d suggest that route.
