Hello, I recently noticed problems like slow symptoms in the early stages of ARC execution, no playback, and nothing appears when I enter the artist page
I saw that the B303 patch notes fixed the issue of not playing after ARC started.
I tried updating it to B303, but the issue of playback was not fixed, and the issue of ARC stuttering was also lingering.
After checking exactly which version the problem was, it was from B298 or later.
I have an iPhone with iOS18, IOS16, and IOS14 versions, and the B297 works very well, but the problem is the same after B298.
Therefore, I’m currently rolling back to B297 and using it.
Personally, I don’t want to miss the DAC related bug in IOS18 from B298 because the biggest part is the fix, but it was an inevitable decision because a drop in performance is a bigger problem.
I would like to ask you to check the problem in this regard.
Hi, @Haruhata, thank you for your report. May I kindly ask you to clarify this statement:
Could you please record a video of this failure state and send it to us? The symptoms you are describing sound alarming so I’d like to investigate this issue
First of all, I write down what I can refer to before watching the video.
I would like to describe everything that can help the technical team to review more quickly, such as the test environment, the conditions under which the error occurs.
Error Action List
After running B298 or later version of Roon ARC, playing the song quickly causes an error.
Regardless of the version, if you select some artists, the artist’s information will not appear. If you re-enter, the information will appear.
Test Equipment
Roon Core: Roon Rock (NUC6i7KYK), Roon Mock (12100F, B760M)
Test IPhone: IPhone 12 Pro Max (ios18), IPhone XS (ios16), IPhone 6s Plus (ios16)
Test ARC Version: B297, B303
Test Conditions
Based on the operational condition of ARC B297, check the issue occurring in B303
The language tested both Korean and English.
Music playback is performed under various conditions such as iPhone’s own speaker, Bluetooth, and AirPods Pro.
Network status tests both cellular status and Wi-Fi status. Port forwarding is very successfully connected, no tailscale.
completely delete and reinstall ARC B297 to B303 (Other Version Too).
Test Results
In B297, depending on the IPhone model, loading may occur when the ARC app is first executed, but in most cases, there were few. In addition, if you play music as soon as you run the ARC app, the music runs immediately. When B298 and B303 are tested, there is a delay of several seconds based on the IPhone 12 Pro Max, and an error occurs when playing the song immediately. If a song is played after a certain period of time, the song plays normally.
No difference occurred due to language setting. In the video, ARC is set in English.
There was no difference depending on the sound output device.
. iPhone speakers are playing in the video.
Both internal and external networks show the same symptoms.
When you quickly change to the settings screen after running ARC, the cloud server connection is completed a little slower.
Symptoms of not being able to retrieve artist information appear to occur randomly when an image with artist wall paper is applied. In the video, all artist wall papers have applied 8K resolution, and the capacity has been adjusted not to exceed 10Mbyte.

ARC B303 Song Play Error
As you can see in the video, playing music immediately after running the B303 version of ARC will cause an error.
ARC B297 Play and Change Play B303
B297 ARC plays music as normal even if it plays music right after running ARC. In this state, an error occurs when playing it under the same conditions after updating to B303. As mentioned earlier, it’s the same even if you completely delete and reinstall ARC.
B303 Normal Play Conditions
B303 ARC needs to play music a little later after running the app to play it normally.
