ARC smart downloads

Hi guys can anyone tell me how I need to have my phone set up for these downloads to happen.. I’m using the Arc download smart function but obviously when the phone goes into standby mode at night although it’s on the Wi-Fi the downloads just don’t happen however the app is still technically open

I woke up this morning and notice that I hadn’t downloaded anymore and then when I opened up the app and physically saw the app I saw the download starting again

Will be good to know why this is happening or whether I need to somehow do another feature to get this to work

I am on iOS and I don’t think downloads actually download unless I have the app open. That is just what I have noticed.

I am on iOS and they do download for me in the background (though yeah I guess the app must be open in the background), albeit slowly because of iOS background data usage restrictions (which was discussed many times in the past, it’s Apple being Apple).

On Android you can turn off the background battery management for ARC, which helps.

Did you exclude your ARC from Battery Optimization, then?

No all good. Just have cancelled quobuz for now as I have enough to listen to..

You can’t download Qobuz tracks anyway, the only thing that ARC downloads are relevant for are local tracks

It seems to work in the background when plugged in and at night. But I sometimes give it a little boost by making sure it is loaded into memory (just opening it, letting screen switch off) before I sleep. Seems to work well. (I am on Android too btw).

Whether I actually understand the things it chooses to download… that’s a different story. And the options you get to tweak for smart downloads are extremely lacking.
