ARC Unauthorized Banner and Error Messages Persist After Setting Up ROCK on Intel NUC (ref#I4E8IH)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· Can’t reach my Server, remotes or ARC

Can’t connect to my Server, remotes or ARC

· Other ARC issues

Tell us what's going on

· After much issues with Roon and especially ARC I now have ROCK on an intel nuc and am in the process of building my library.
Occasionally in the past, I get the unauthorised banner on ARC so I hoped my new setup would sort this. It hasn’t. It also tells me “something went wrong”Away from home this morning I had the message the whole time, wherever I was. Now, I get home and am on my WiFi and still get the messsge. My roon app works fine. So infuriating. I have screenshots if needed.

Hello @Darren_Allan

Thank you for reaching out. It’s great to hear you’ve made the jump to ROCK on an Intel NUC — that’s usually the most stable way to run Roon.

The “Unauthorized” banner and “Something went wrong” messages in ARC are likely happening because the app is still trying to communicate with your previous server setup. ARC caches specific security tokens and server IDs

Since you’ve moved to a completely new server, the best way to fix this is a clean slate for the mobile app:

  1. Delete the Roon ARC app from your phone entirely.
  2. Restart your phone to ensure any cached background processes are cleared.
  3. Reinstall Roon ARC from the App Store/Google Play Store.
  4. Log in again and select your new ROCK server.
This should force ARC to establish a fresh, authorized handshake with your Intel NUC.

If you still see the error after a fresh install, please let us know. It would also be helpful to know if Roon Settings -> Roon ARC on your ROCK shows as “Ready” or if there is an error message there.

Standing by for your results!

Hi @Darren_Allan,

You’ll unfortunately need to uninstall/reinstall to disassociate ARC from the previous server. This will require you to redownload any locally saved tracks on the phone, but it will otherwise instantly resolve the problem you’re encountering.
