Up to build 1462 everything worked just fine. After the update I can not payback any songs from remote devices. Roon wants to try multiple playbacks und skips the tracks without playing them. Then the error message “too many failures” appears. I think it is a network issue. But I can not find a solution. The remote access via Arc just works fine ??!? Is there a bug with the new Rock build ? I could not find a topic for that.
Hey @Patrick_Ehlen,
Thanks for writing in and sharing your report!
I would agree that your issue does seem to be network-related. As a first next step, could you please attempt to access the webUI of your ROCK? Here’s more info:
Another thing to check is any firewalls on your remote devices - like your Mac studio. If you temporarily disable your firewall, do you run into the same issue?
We’ll be on standby for your reply.
Hi, yes I can access the web Interface of the NUC. I allready restarted the server, I reinstalled the Rock OS but nothing helped. Same with disabled firewall. I also can access the Rock files from my finder window on the Mac.
Even when I connect the Rock NUC directly with my Mac via network cable the issue appears. It doesn’t matter if I try to remote access via iphone, iPad via WLAN or mac via ethernet. Nothing works. It is no difference between local files or streaming (tidal).
It seems that the NUC has a network connection but it is extremly slowed down. I just made a backup of my database and it took forever. In the past that would be a task of just a few seconds.
Hi @Patrick_Ehlen ,
What is the model/manufacturer of your networking gear? Have you tried connecting the NUC directly to the router? This sounds like a networking issue somewhere along the line, we’d need to understand your specific setup, so please be sure to include as much details as you can, thanks!
The NUC is conected to the NETGEAR XS508M switch where the Mac is also connected. The switch is connected to a TP-Link SafeStream ER707-M2 router. I also tried to connect the Mac and the NUC direct to the router - same result. I even tried to connect the Mac direkt to the NUC - same result. The configuration worked fine until the software update on the NUC happend. I reseted the NUC but it forced me to update so I can’t replicate the first setup.
Oh I got it. It was an issue with my playback configuration. Thank for your time and your support.
Glad to hear you were able to pinpoint the issue @Patrick_Ehlen , happy listening!
It seems that MacOS Sequoia destroyed some playback zones in the Mac. I had to turn off and on the zones and make sure that all the security settings are available for roon.
