Artist Credits in Roon

I recently added "The Complete Blue Note Recordings Of Albert Ammons And Meade Lux Lewis” to my music library. When I play the album in Roon, I see that the main album page credits Albert Ammons on the first track (all good so far):

However, on the track view, which is what I mostly use when listening to an album, I see both Albert Ammons and Meade Lux Lewis as performers:

Both are appropriately listed as the Album Artist in Yate (same in MP3Tag) and each is listed on their respective tracks:

It appears that at the track level, Roon is reading the Album Artist and not the Artist fields. Is that a correct interpretation? Can I change the track view so it shows the performing artist and not the collective?

You will also see this on the Queue page which is what I have open most of the time. Its particularly annoying with Classical but its with every genre. So, for example, on this disk, Hélène Grimaud plays both orchestrated and solo works. But on the solo tracks, roon also credits both the orchestra and the conductor.

This irritating issue has been there a very long time since the early days of roon. I don’t know of any way round it.

Its because at an album level there are 3 Primary Artists , remove the orchestra and conductor and it fixes it BUT doesn’t now show those 2 credits

The Conductor and Orchestra need separate tags credited , but alas not

Yes. Roon is only partially shifting focus from album-level data elements to track-level data elements as the GUI shifts from an album to a track focus. I hope this behaviour is not baked in at this stage and can still be addressed one day. I am aware of it for coming up to 8 years now.

The other bad one is when Roon recognizes a single album as a part of a big box and imports the credits for the box rather than the single album.

I’ve seen this several times , a re-ID normally fixes it

Did you see a post a few days ago that a box-set fix is finally on the way? The thread seems to have been quickly killed though.

No I missed that where was it ?

I really had given up on it , the source data is a big problem, where do you get disc sub title data to lookup ?

I have been noticing that ID has a bias towards box sets, a single album that should ID easily showing as part of a box set
