Assign NIC to QNAP Core

I’ve got a QNAP TS-677 with 4 NICs in it. Currently Roon uses NIC 1’s address and ideally I’d like it to use NIC 2. The network NIC 2 is assigned to has all of my Sonos and other streamers on it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ian,
I have not tested this scenario, yet. Did you already try this and it did not work?
Has your NIC1 a different ip range than the NIC 2? How are the IP addresses assigned on each network?

As far as I know, Roon will use the default gateway, which can be set in the QNAP network configuration. But I also have to check how it will deal with multiple connection to different networks.

Each NIC is in a different ip range (and VLAN to boot.) From my testing it looks like Roon takes NIC1 as it’s address.

Is there a config file that I can edit to change that?

Worst case, I can swap the IPs on the two NIC but I’d greatly prefer to not have to do that.

The issue with many NAS, Synology is one, not sure about QNAP is that they do not perform any routing between lan ports…which is a pity, but perhaps a blessing too from a security perspective.
