Assistance with Docker Configuration Generator paths (ref#9AWTU5)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· I need help in specifying the correct paths in the Docker Configuration Generator.

Tell us about your home network

· I don't think the router, etc. are an issue. I am trying to correctly add the Docker image to my Qnap TVS-471. I'm pasting in the path for music and backups as shown from the existing 2.64 server. I have followed these steps:
1. Create backup from v2.64 server
2. Stop v2.64 server
3. Create application using Docker Configuration Generator
4. Start Roon
5. Connect to new server
6. Click on Restore a backup
7. Choose backup created from v2.64

After multiple attempts I have been unsuccessful in creating the v2.65 server in the container with the correct music and attributes (merged albums, tags assigned, etc.).

Did you see and follow the this advice?

Thanks! I HAD missed that. Have now created a new backup from v2.64 after disabling the watched folder. Re-ran the configuration generator, created a new v2.65 server in the container, started Roon, selected Restore a backup, and selected the new backup I had just created. Now no matter what path I enter in the configuration generator for my music files I only see the Quobuz tracks. Looking at the path shown above could you please advise as to what the path in the configuration generator should be to also pick up my local files? Thanks much for your help.

You’re in the best position to lookup the correct path information. See also:

Thanks again for your help. Unfortunately the info at that link is a bit beyond my capabilities without more detailed instructions. I DO seem to have figured out the correct path though. Even though I thought I had tried every combination after restoring from a good backup (per your callout about disabling the watched folder) I tried again this morning. My folder structure is Multimedia/Music/My Music and just using Multimedia in the configuration generator seemed to do the trick I had seen a thread in a different section (linked below) that dealt with that, and was questioning whether spaces in a folder name would cause problems (like in My Music). I didn’t think it would since my backup path is Roon Backups/RoonBackups and that worked OK. I’ll watch things for a few days and will be back if I run into further problems. Thanks again for your assistance.

Hey @RAB,

Glad to hear it all worked out!

We’re glad you found the correct path and that the new backup and restore process got you moving again. We’ll go ahead and mark this thread for closure, but if there are any issues, just let us know. Hope you enjoy your Roon experience.
