Modern kernel with low latency is a better general option than an outdated stock kernel. I am not a Roon user but dealing with a kernel and understand this part more on the theoretical ground.

Hi Raymond,
I didn’t quite understand what the final solution was. Did you simply install Volumio and then add Roon Bridge via terminal?
Volumio has images for several HW configs and they usually do an excellent job of optimizing them for audio.
