Aswesome new feature in Sonoma for Roon

I have discovered that there is a shortcut in the menu bar with basic controls for the currently playing track in Roon.
Play/pause, next/previous and summary information - just what I needed for a clutter-free environment.
Clicking on the Roon icon will bring Roon to the front, in the meantime I can minimise Roon to the dock and get on with other work.

Great innovation - effectively a miniplayer available on every desktop.

Menu Access

I had that since Ventura  But don’t know about earlier

It is called the Now Playing module and it was actually introduced back in MacOS Big Sur. However the icon in the menu bar wasn’t displayed by default until one of the later versions of Ventura. A miniplayer is shown for each player that is open (YouTube, Roon, Qobuz, Spotify, Apple Music, etc).

You can find the display setting for it under System Settings > Control Center > Now Playing

Thanks @mSpot
That’s useful to know.

It just came up by default with my copy of Sonoma, so it was the first I knew about it.
A great little widget to use with Roon either way.
