As many of use have experienced, RAAT over WiFi is a hit-or-miss affair that depends a lot on WiFi hardware, its placement, local WiFi congestion, whether your partner is using the microwave, and likely many other hard-to-control factors. In my experience with both a Chord Hugo 2+2Go and an A&ultima SP1000M, streaming hiccups and skips are associated to very brief packet loss. If an ungrouped zone could be configured as “asynchronous” with a lot more buffering on the endpoint, the packet delays from retransmit could be smoothed over. This would help many of us who use ungrouped WiFi endpoints.
