Audio devices vanish on Mac OSX Sonoma 14.5 after initial Roon launch (ref#M0C4PH)

Describe the issue

Audio devices for Mac OSX Sonoma 14.5 do not appear; or they appear for initial launch of Roon, then quickly disappear.

Describe your network setup

Ubiquiti UniFi Security Gateway (USG) + switch. Connected to LAN with Mac OS and ROCK NUC, both via wired ethernet.

This looks like a reoccurring issue for others: Local audio devices disappeared (again) on Mac OS X

Just to note, I’m running Roon ROCK on a dedicated NUC. I can connect to more than 4-5 other devices just fine. Only my Mac device is having trouble identifying its own audio devices (these same devices show up for other applications and programs just fine).

Hey @a4aaron,

Thanks for writing in and sharing your report - it’s good to see you on community again!

While we troubleshoot, could you please set up a more direct network chain? Bypass the switch and get an ethernet connection from your Mac as well as the audio devices you’re having issues with?

Which endpoints are you having trouble with specifically?

As another step in troubleshooting, can you confirm your Mac has Roon properly listed under the machine firewall exceptions? Here’s more info on this:

We’ll be on standby for your reply, thank you! :+1:
