My audio source endpoint cannot be found by Core after updating your software once again. Very frustrated with service to the point I will have to cancel. Resetting router, rebooting core, and audio endpoint is not working. So many countless hours of frustration after completing an update YOU provide. To top it off you can not be contacted by phone and email responses replied to days or week later are of little help. Also help comes long after my desire to listen to music via Roon. Roon has taken all the enjoyment out of my music listening pleasure in spite of all the benefits it provides.
From a previous post it looks like your Roon Core is running on a Mac, if so this may help …
From what I understand, Apple changed the way it manages Network Security, which has affected Roon (and other application providers). Roon are aware, but the mitigation is proving to be quite involved … hence the time it’s taking to design/implement & test a reliable solution.
I hope this work-a-round resolves the problem, if not Roon staff will follow up with you once the ticket reaches the top of their queue.
PS
I appreciate you may not like it, however, Roon provide all support (Monday - Friday) via Support in this forum, which you have now done (this will have created an internal tracking ticket on Roon support system. Any other method of contacting them for support does not do this so it possible correspondence may get lost / not replied too.
Thank you for reaching out to Roon Support. We’re sorry to hear you’re experiencing issues with sound output.
After an application update, macOS may treat Roon as a new app—even if it’s installed over the previous version. As a result, the system may not retain Local Network permission settings, which can lead to audio device issues. The suggestion provided by @Carl is a great place to start:
