My CORE Machine is working fine and it is seen on all peripherals. Roon V. 2.0 (1182)
I tried a Remote Mac to control CORE functions and outputs (same Roon V. 2.0 (1182)
It worked fine until I tried to use it to play music in it and: SETTINGS: AUDIO:THIS MACis not present.
In SETTINGS: ABOUT: there is a REMOTE: THIS MAC.
Does anyone with a similar problem and how to solve it?
Mac Mini 2014, Monterrey 12.6.2 (21G320) 16GB, 3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7
Simple WIFI router in a basic routing no VPN or Firewall in Core or Remote.
All other Remotes: Ipad, and Iphones, work fine.
As a test try turning off the firewall antivirus on the Mac and see if the This Mac section appears. If it does, it means you need to put in exclusions for the Roon, Raatserver, apps in the firewall. (note not all of the items listed will be there, it depends on which software you installed.)
And thanks Rugby, I opened the Mac firewall added Roon_app to be totally allowed and then turn off the firewall completely. Also, I connected the mac directly by ethernet to the Mac Roon Server and nothing. Even opened a Roon_Bridge (Virtual) only to see if the ports were available. No, THIS MAC was not available so no zones by default.
But please notice that ABOUT says THIS MAC and ROON BRIDGE are available.
Thanks for your patience while we work through each thread. Following up here, are you still running into issues with your Mac mini 2014 as a Roon Remote?
To confirm, you are simply trying to play audio from the system output of the mac remote? If so, can you please take a look at your mac sound settings? I would also take a look at your Audio Midi settings on the macbook.
