Description of Issue
The DAC I’m using contains a Burr Brown DAC that does native DSD up to 256 but the only audio zone choice I’m getting is “iFi (by AMR) HD+ USB Audio” which does allow DSD over PCM 1.0 (DoP) but this only goes up to DSD 128. Is there some way to edit the audio zone files to tell Roon that my DAC supports native DSD 256?
No you can’t edit anything in Roon. Roon gets capabiities from the DAC itself. If you using in windows it may need to use an ASIO driver to get the higher support.
Are you running this DAC on Windows?
Do you have the iFi DAC driver installed.
DOP only goes to DSD128 and you probably need the driver to get DSD256. It should then show up as multiple devices in Roon.
The other option is a streamer like a Raspberry Pi or the Zen Stream both of which have given me native DSD with the Zen DAC.
