Describe the issue

After enabling the zone, after a few weeks the zone will disable and be completly forgotten. It needs to be re-enabled and renamed - all play history is forgotten.

Hi @jptaranto,

RAATServer diagnostics indicate that the DragonFly was visible until March 31 - there was a Windows update released just a few days prior that might have reset your Windows Defender firewall settings to sever RAATServer’s connection to the loopback.

Put simply, this would have rendered the USB port invisible to Roon. Try verifying that Roon.exe, RAATServer.exe, and Roon’s other processes are still safelisted in the Defender firewall.

If that doesn’t work, try restarting RAATServer itself. With the USB DAC disconnected:

  • Navigate to your Roon’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RAATServer”
  • Rename the “RAATServer” folder to “RAATServer_old”
  • Restart the Roon App to generate a new RAATServer folder

Then plug the DAC in via USB.

Thanks Connor! Can you confirm I’ve safelisted roon from windows defender correctly?

No. The section in your screenshot clearly states it’s about antivirus. Firewalls are a different beast.

Are there any docs on this? that would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like the various roon/raatserver exe’s were all allowed through the firewall already.

Hi @jptaranto,
It looks like you’ve whitelisted the right items in your firewall. Have you had a chance to reset RAATServer with the DAC disconnected, as @connor suggested? Let us know if that helps or if you need any further assistance!
