Description of Issue
Auralic Aries starting showing connection problems and then disappeared from Audio devices list. No way to have it again into the list. I switched off everything in the audio chain and restarted again, re-installed both Lightning DS (Auralic software) and Roon but nothing changed, my Aries is no longer connected to Roon.
First off, welcome to the community! We’re excited to have you here, but I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues with your Auralic Aries! As a first line of troubleshooting, have you tested out different cables? If you have other USB ports to test as well, that would be good.
Are you able to see your Aries on other audio programs on your core device? Does it appear under your Audio MIDI settings on the iMac? When you reinstalled the Auralice software, did it also update to the latest firmware version as well?
If possible, please test out hardwiring your core device directly to your router and let me know if your issue persists.
Lastly, I’d double-check your firewall settings on both the iMac as well as your network. We’ve seen similar instances of Aries disappearing due to firewall settings in the past. I’d make sure that both
Roon.exe as well as RAATServer.exe are listed as exceptions.
