Not sure if I am missing something about this…
My scheduled backup will not complete if music is playing. The manual back will pause music and then resume, why can’t the scheduled backup do the same ?
Thx
Because a manual backup has user intervention and you decide if an interuption is okay. Typically, schedule automatic backups to run while you are sleeping (along with library maintenance.)
I understand your suggestion, however, my thought is no additional user intervention should be needed. The backup is scheduled so it should run on the schedule. There could be a setting where the user chooses either for the schedule to interrupt the playing music or to not interrupt with the caveat that if the music is not interrupted then the scheduled backup will not run.
But the principle that a backup doesn’t stop playback makes sense. Your backup failed at 02:00, which I assume was an exception because someone was listening to music late into the evening. Stopping playback would put a dampener on the session.
In contrast, if the backup is manually initiated, it’s pretty clear if it’s okay to pause playback.
If you really think there should be a change, then you should add a request in Feedback > Feature Suggestions.
I will. Thank You.
