Certain individual tracks are available and playable directly from the artist”s discography in Qobuz but when transferred to my roon playlist the “unavailable” designation appears.
In the past when this would occur a simple retransfer of the track to the playlist would render the track playable. In the past few weeks retransfer to my playlist does not make the track playable. Any suggestions for repair would be appreciated.
I think the next step here is to enable some diagnostics on your account so our technical staff can get some more insight into what’s going on here.
However, before I enable this feature, I’d like to ask for your help ensuring we gather the right information.
First, can you please reproduce the issue once more and note the time at which the error occurs. Then respond here with that time, and I’ll make sure we review the diagnostics related to that timestamp.

I missed your response In February. I will watch for it and record there time.
I made two separate attempts on two different songs in two of my playlists between 10:22-10;23pm CST 04/30/26. Both times, the songs will play if selected from the albums in the Artist’s Discography but not if selected from my playlists where the songs have a red “unavailable” listing. If I click on the album title for these songs in my playlist, I receive the message:” Album cannot be found.”
I’ll let the support team weigh in with an official response, but what you describe seems to me to be expected behaviour. It is caused by Qobuz withdrawing albums or even certain tracks from their catalogue because of licence changes imposed by the owners of the works.
Most of the time, these get replaced by new versions, so when you look at an artist’s discography, you see these new versions and they are playable.
However, Playlists are in effect a snapshot in time of tracks in Qobuz’s catalogue, and a track listing is a pointer to a track in the catalogue that may no longer be available.
It is for this reason that Roon Labs introduced the Playlist Improver feature. Have you tried this to update your Playlists?
Appreciate the response but unfortunately it doesn’t apply to my situation. First, I always use Playlist improver. Second, whenever a song is listed as unavailable I go to the artist”s discography and select the song to transfer to my playlist. When I go back to my playlist the newly transferred song appears wth the indication in red that it is unavailable and Playlist improver identifies the newly transferred song as a duplicate that is unavailable. If I click on the album title in my playlist I get the error message that the album is not found. I then have to click on the artist go their discography click on the relevant album click on the track that is listed as unavailable and it plays. In the past reloading a playlist from the artist”s discography has worked but on a number of songs it doesn’t. As an example Freya Ridings cut “Lost without you” from the album “Freya Ridings. I just attempted to add it to a playlist where it is already listed as“unavailable” and Playlist improver identified as a duplicate that was unavailable.
By the way, I love the playlist improver especially when it identifies better sound quality versions.
I think you’ll find that when you add the new version of a track to your Playlist, it gets added as a new item at the bottom of the Playlist - it doesn’t replace the unavailable track, which remains in place in the Playlist…
After going to her Artist page and adding that track to the Playlist, it’s at the bottom of the list (and the unavailable track is still in place, and needs to be removed manually using the “3 dots” menu on the unavailable track)
Thanks for your response. I removed the unavailable tracks from my playlist. Went to the artist’s discography to add the track to my playlist and the track appears on my play list as unavailable once again.
I did it the other way round - first went to the Artist discography and added the track (it gets added to the bottom of the Playlist), then went and deleted the unavailable track from the Playlist.
Then try it once more, note the timestamp and report it here. Perhaps @vadim or @benjamin can pull the logs and see what’s going on, because I can’t reproduce your issue on my system.
We’ve enabled diagnostics, so at your earliest convenience, please power the Roon Server on and let us know here once it’s online. That will let us continue from the latest state and check what is happening. Please report back once it is up.
