B1584 selecting multiple items in listen later toggles off previous selection

This happens in both the windows and Android client.
Select the first set of items using right click on windows or select on Android.

Then select the next item which then deselects the earlier ones.

It would be nice to have some means of selecting all the items to queue or put in a playlist.

Can you add the next one when holding CTRL?

Nope. Also, you can’t press control on a phone
It’s just some of the items in the list that trigger the behaviour, I can select 20+ items but random entries will do the toggle

39 selected; but click on Joe Cocker

Seems broken then. This always worked. (It should also work to Shift-select two separate ranges with a gap in between, is this broken too?)

I’ve switched the PC off now so can’t confirm but I did try that and it didn’t work.

Hi ged_hickman1,
Thanks for the detailed report!

This behavior is expected at the moment.
Roon doesn’t support selecting mixed item types at the same time.
So if you start selecting tracks and then select an album (or vice-versa), the previous selection will be cleared automatically.

Right now you can only select multiple items of the same type (all tracks, or all albums, or all artists).

We appreciate the suggestion about selecting everything at once.
I’ve passed that feedback along to the team. :hugs:

Is that behaviour documented anywhere?

We do have a Knowledge Base article that explains how selection works in Roon:

Unfortunately, that’s all the information available for now.

Ah, I had totally missed this detail in the selection

It came up in the past on the forum when people tried to select items in tags (and had tagged albums, artists, tracks with the same tag) but I don’t know if it’s written down somewhere else

Apart from the current topic, this is by the way woefully incomplete and isn’t doing Roon‘s flexible selection options justice (on computers).
