B1662 Album group button doesn’t appear, top right, for multi-selection. Shouldn’t it?

Maybe my recollection is skewed and correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t usually a Group button appear top right if you select two or more albums to group them as different versions of an album? It’s not there. Though you can still go to the (…) > Edit menu > Group Alternate Versions.

For this screenshot, If have selected two random albums as if I were to group them:

When selecting two artists, the Merge Artists button appears as expected:

IIRC it has been via the 3 dot overflow menu for sometime :man_shrugging:

Interesting. But it was there in the past as I remember it, correct? Or am I going mad?

I had just tried to group some albums and the missing button made me think that something was broken and I couldn’t do the group action (although I am, in principle, aware of the option via the (…) button). It doesn’t help with discoverability IMHO.

From my experience these Roon oddities creep in and out from time to time.

Like edit function for small smartphone screens. It appeared by mistake and following an update it was gone. In that case it was an error as a smartphone screen isn’t suitable for the edit screens.

There was another instance, but I don’t recall it enough to be sure. I remember they had forgotten to add something and took an update to bring it back.

When I had to merge split albums I always had to access the 3 dot menu (iPad). Maybe the merge artists is the odd thing here.

FWIW - on the artists page and selecting multiple artists; there isn’t an edit function so that ‘merge artists’ must be the only way. Not something I’ve ever done, so never noticed until now.

For a single selected artist there is the edit function.

Sure, and Early Access is the place to report them

Perhaps, I might well misremember. Thanks. And indeed there is no option to merge multi-selected artists via (…) > Edit. The only way is the top-right button. I guess this makes the two merge actions needlessly inconsistent, and it might be better to do it the same way, whichever it might be.
