B224 ARC in foreground prevents screen sleep on iOS

I just realized that when ARC is in the foreground, my iPhone does not dim the screen and does not lock. I think I also had this in the past 10 days of frequent ARC use during traveling, but didn’t realize (I guess I usually put it in the background by doing other things on the phone, but I think I noticed it occasionally). I am not sure if this was always the case, though (I have not rebooted the iPhone since November when I got it).

This is an iPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 17.1.2. As you probably know, the 15 Pro has an always-on screen that gets dimmed when not in use and never turns off completely - but it does not do that with ARC in the foreground.

I have set the iPhone to auto-lock after 30 seconds and Always On Display is enabled.

Anyone else with the same issue?
I’m not rebooting for now on purpose to preserve the state in case Roon staff needs it

Still the same after updating to B225 and then rebooting the phone

Hi, @Suedkiez . Do you have some queued or paused downloads?

Hi @Suedkiez

I did some testing and sharing results to compare …

Roon Server on Windows 11, Tested with both Build 1356 (EA) and Build 1358 (EA).

iPhone 14 Pro Max with iOS 17.1.2. set to auto-lock after 30 seconds and and Always On Display is enabled.

ARC has downloading enabled, it is not paused, but there are no files that require downloading at present.

ARC connected via Wifi (am at home)

ARC running in foreground but not playing : iPhone is locked and screen is dimmed.

Not as far as I can tell, they seem all finished and SDL hasn’t switched anything out in the past 10 days. These are the last ones (currently with covers, I am on wifi) and the SDL icon is white

I’ve started playing around with iOS settings on/off but so far haven’t found anything with the more obvious ones. Always On Display on/off makes no difference, nor Focus. It’s weird. Not sure if a reinstall might help? At least SDL makes it less painful

Hey, @Suedkiez ! I believe reinstalling might help fix the active lock screen. The only reason why it’s happening, I suppose, is an unfinished download. Missing covers might be fixed as well.

Done :crossed_fingers: 10char

:crossed_fingers: I’m eager to receive your positive feedback.

w00t! 30 gigs of fresh SDL (and only this) and the phone goes to sleep and the offline cache is there.

So far so good, I hope this is an outlier and it’s not going to hit lots of people after release

I found a new issue too and will open a new thread
