Describe the issue

Just received my new Nucleus Titan. First step in transitioning from my old Nucleus is to create a backup. I put a thumbdrive in the back of the Nucleus and attempted to "backup now" to that drive. I keep getting a message that: Backup failed / Backup directory not available." Why? I have four places already regularly scheduled that I backup to -- why can't I create a backup on the thumbdrive? I can send a screenshot if needed.

Describe your network setup

Networking Gear and Setup Details: Pakedge RK-1 Router; Nucleus is hardwired to Ethernet via a QNAP QSW-1208-8C-US 12 Port Unmanaged 10GbE Switch Twelve SFP+ with Shared Eight 10GBASE-T Ports

How is the thumb drive formatted?
Was it “removed properly” that last time you disconnected it?
PC or MAC for computers you have access to?
You might try hooking it up to a computer and make sure it is FAT32, scan and fix it, then make sure that it is ejected properly.

Hi @Mark_Salkind ,

If it is NTFS formatted you will need to do a safe eject on the drive from another PC. If it is another format, please let us know what format it is.

Yes, just after I sent the message to technical support, I realized I had not formatted the thumb drive. Once I had done so, it worked for the backup.

Thank you.
