Backup failure in Roon (ref#KBIS0G)

Is it possible to run two different accounts on one Core? I was thinking of running them side by side either on one PC or two and manually adjusting the data in my new account.

IDK, but I don’t think so. Just get another server for your second subscription. I have 4 Roon servers. Make sure you purchase both subscriptions on the same account if you want to restore a database from one to the other.

Also, make sure you actually need a second subscription.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to run two Roon accounts on the same server. I agree with @Jim_F’s suggestion about using two separate computers. Would that be a workable solution for your setup?

I only need one account. And, unfortunately, the older/original one is highly customized, so I’ll have to keep this one and not use the newer one. The older one is associated with an email address no longer in use. Probably a rare need, but it might be an interesting project to be able to move an account’s metadata.

If the reason you created a new account is to switch the email address on your old one, our @accounts team can help with that. They’ll be in touch with you shortly to assist with updating the email associated with your original account.

Are you thinking of the “Reset Your Email Address” function within Account Information? I login with a specific email address that has all my custom metadata. Is your thought that I can just reset/change this email address and still keep the metadata?

Yes, that is exactly what @daniel was saying. When you change the email address associated with your Roon account (or your name, or you change your password) all your metadata stays the same. Nothing is touched.

Your metadata is not connected to the email address, so you can change it as many times as you like.

As the second account is using the email address I want for the original acount, does it need to be deleted first?

Beka, yes, the email I want to use is, indeed, associated with the second account that was created. This account can be deleted. Please confirm that this is a private message, and I’ll state the account to be deleted.

Click Beka’s Roon icon on the message you replied to and you can send a private message.

Or check in your forum notifications, top right on every forum page, if she already sent you one. (There would be a mail envelope icon)
