Backup questions

Hi Folks,

I have a few question regarding the database backup.

  1. Is backup scheduling still using UTC? Or my local time?
  2. Does backup work if computer is asleep through the night?
  3. Also, backup warning icon disappears and doesn’t reappear again if retry is unsuccessful. My backup is set for every 2 days and I find it disturbing when I see the backup is behind 2 weeks with no additional warnings. How does one know if Roon is retrying a failed attempt?

Thanks in advance for your help.
Jay

Hello @Jason

Thanks for your questions, here are the answers:

  1. Backups should be using local time, backups using UTC was a bug that was resolved.
  2. No, your computer must be powered on and Roon has to be active for a backup to occur.
  3. The dev team has just addressed an issue with backups retrying if they failed.
This fix will be published in an upcoming release once it has passed QA verification.

Thanks,
Noris

Hi Noris,
Thanks for your clarification.

I may have found a bit of a bug. I’ve been able to repeat this several times.

  1. Setting for 12am, displays schedule back up for “noon”.
  2. Setting for 12pm, displays schedule back up for “midnight”.
  3. With midnight displayed if I go back to edit the time, setting shows “0am” in the little window.

Thanks again for your help.
Jay
