Backup restoration issue after migrating from virtualized to dedicated ROCK (ref#68CBF5)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

Tell us what's going on

· I'm running into a problem after migrating from a virtualized ROCK to a dedicated ROCK, on the same hardware. I can't restore a recent backup.

The backups are stored on a NAS and run every two weeks. I can see in the backup folder that the backups are there but Roon doesn't show the most recent ones to restore.

Tell us about your home network

· Not a network problem, but router is a fritz 7690 and a couple of netgear prosafe switches are used.

Hello @Sean ,

Thanks for reaching out to our support.

Can you please confirm with us whether backup structure in folder with backups looks like this:

having file “roonbackup_root_” is important, if you don’t have it - that will cause exactly the problem you face.

If it looks like this on your machine and still does not recognize backup, can you please upload your backup to Media Uploader so we can review it ?

Thanks.

Hi Alex,

Thanks, I’ve checked and the roon_backup_root is there. I have three folders though:

Maybe that has something to do with the problem with the restoration of the backup?

While typing this I realized that it might have something to do with the structure of the folders. I copied the folder with the backups I wanted to restore to the RoonBackups folder, and now Roon recognizes the backups again! Restoring as we speak

Thanks you very much for pointing me in the right direction!
