Describe the issue

When I set up my core, without thinking I chose to allow automatic daily backups, and a maximum of 99 backups. I just discovered that the size of my backup folder is 55GB . . .

I am unclear on the specifics of what constitutes a backup, whether each incremental backup counts as one of the 99 backups, or do I have 99 backups, each one of which represents the current state of my account, with each one of the 99 incrementally increased every day . . .

If I edit the scheduled backup "number of backups to keep" to a number smaller than 99 -- let's pretend I change it to 10 -- does roon adapt in some intelligent way that I still have at least 1 complete backup of all my data?

Hi @Marcovaldo,
Thanks for reaching out to us to ask about this issue.

The back ups are incremental. Each one holding the state of your Roon server at the time they were created.

Yes you would have at least 10 complete backups at that point.

Let us know if you have any more questions. We’re happy to help!

Thank you, Daniel. Much appreciated!

My automatic backup just happened, I restarted roon, the counts of artists, tracks, et cetera are all still the same, and the backups folder is now 8.55 GB!
