Bavarian Radio Not Working anymore

The Bavarain stations Bayern 1, 2, 3, BR-Klassik, BR24,… are not working anymore.
Also the TuneIn links are not working.
No problems with other stations und also no problem with aac.

Outside from Roon the TuneIn links are working without problems.

Hello @Burkhardt_Petermann , I’ve checked the streams in our database and they work (as they use a .m3u pointer). Were you using station streams you added yourself in my live radio?
(And we don’t use Tunein links in the main database)

While there however, I noticed that we don’t have the .aac streams. I’ll add those later.

I also noticed we had the old B5 aktuell name for BR24. I’ve changed it, although a search for B5 aktuell should still work.

Hello Brian,

thanks for your help.
My problem: Streams are working outside (for example http://streams.br.de/bayern2sued_2.m3u in foobar2000), but not inside Roon for me.
The stream above is in the real word something like http://dispatcher.rndfnk.com/br/br2/sued/mp3
Ping to dispatcher.rndfnk.com fails (but nslookup shows it) and also in Roon I’ll get: station not available.
Are you able to ping dispatcher.rndfnk.com?
All (which I’ve tested) radio stations are working for me, but not the bavarian…

BR24 was working for me this morning.

I’ve got to add that, since the last Roon update, most of the times with radio streams from the data base I get overlapping messages of stream started and not available, but starting the second time it works…

The .m3u redirect is to links like

http://dispatcher.rndfnk.com/br/br2/sued/mp3/mid

You’ve missed off the /mid.

Apart from that are you using the database entries for the stations, rather than your own?

Pings don’t work for me either.

Can you tell me which radio stations? If the station has a .m3u file url with a lot of links, this can slow Roon down quite a bit as it checks every one. I have sometimes replaced these.

I tried adding your Bayern 2 link to my live radio. It immediately linked to the main database entry, which worked.

If you have your own entries for the Bayern stations, it may be worth deleting them and adding again from the main database.

I’ve now added .aac links to the stations.

(Annoyingly, their audio server’s icy-br flag reports the wrong bit rate on some of their streams, so it took me a bit longer than it should)

Thanks for trying to help me, but I’ve tried really all possibilities and it’s not working anymore for me.

Again:

no: take your stream like http://streams.br.de/bayern2sued_2.m3u into foobar2000 and then foobar2000 shows while playing http://dispatcher.rndfnk.com/br/br2/sued/mp3/mid
So for me it works in foobar, but not under Roon.

entries from Roon, self added stations in all combination.
I’ve also delete all bavarian stations from Roon, added again,…

All other internet radio stations are working for me in Roon.

In the log from Roon, you can see:

Which is what I posted…

Anyway, it looks like a DNS problem. My Roon logs show no issues there. Have you rebooted? If that doesnt work we’ll move over to support.

Something changed for the better, because now there are no contradicting popups with nothing starting any more.
Had it with Bayern 2, Bayern 3, BR-Klassik, B5 aktuell (no longer available) and BR24.
And yes, all m3u, but don’t see “a lot of links”.

Ok, good news anyway.

So, I’ve solved my problem (I’m using my own DNS bind server) and it wa really only the DNS.

But one wish: The current bitrates from BR-Klassik is really low (it shows me AAC 48kHz with 70kbps), but BR has also a 192 kHz stream, which sounds better.

Excellent.

I’ve added the 192 stream, thanks for spotting it.
