I would say the default settings are likely fine.
Sorry, what does “default setting” mean?
The settings you have after installation, so you could just select output device and choose PCM/SDM output mode depending on your DAC implementation and such. But otherwise the settings should be fine.

If you want, you can reset back to default settings through the option in Help-menu. Please note that clear data will remove also library and key file. So you may want to ensure you have exported backup copy of the library first, and have the key file at hand to reinstall. You can also export a backup of your current settings in case you’d like to go back to your previous settings file.
You can also just delete or move away ~/.hqplayer/settings.xml and it will get recreated with default values at next startup.
This is assuming you are using HQPlayer Desktop product.
Jussi, I have followed your instructions but, I am sorry, system doesn’t work. A very low, indistinguishable sound can be heard.

How is your HQPlayer volume setting? But please remember not to turn it higher than -3 dB.
I chose to have no control on volume in hqplayer. I prefer to control volume on my preamp.

Then if it is still quiet and you are using PCM output, is perhaps your DAC having USB controlled volume control? HQPlayer has always volume control, it is just either fixed or variable.
I am using sdm output and I set fixed volume on hqplayer.
What kind of output levels HQPlayer Client metering shows? I’m asking to split this between software and hardware domains.
Hi Jussi, i am convincing to upgrade my hardware. Too many issues with macmin5.1.
My current concern is among macmini m4 or ryzen 9 based pc.
