Best Roon Config For Travellers

Hi Folks,

Even though I’ve already read a lot about it here in the forum, I’d like to start my own thread so that I really don’t forget anything - for my needs - and we can (hopefully) discuss my project in detail.

In a nutshell:
I currently live as a digital nomad in a motorhome and enjoy Europe. At the same time, I don’t want to do without Roon, both when I’m in the motorhome and when I’m travelling during the day.

My goal

  • To have my own Roon server that I can access from anywhere.
  • I want to do this with an older Apple Mini (i5? i7?) and an external 2TB hard drive, on which Roon will run 24/7.

First question:
I can then use this to access Roon via the Roon iPhone & iPad app, but not via my Mac, right?

Second question:
Can I run a second, parallel Roon environment on the Mac with one licence? and…

Third question:
Could I then synchronise these two environments from time to time? (Sorry Rooner, but two licences are really too expensive)

As far as I know, that would be the only sensible implementation, or are there alternatives?

Help is very welcome

Best regards,
Daniel

Ok, the was a good hint, thanks.

So it is possible to have a Roon Server Running elsewhere and using iPad/iPhone via ARC while I’m on the road. In this Scenario I only can use ARC which isn’t as comfortable as using Roon directly. Or can I use Roon Remote, too?

I’m really confused about all this different possibilities. The Remote would be cool, but I guess that’s only possible in the same network?

I’m ill at the moment, not able to think through all this normally, sorry. But I have to make a step forward in my plannings, so I try to get clear about that.
