Best way to connect NAS drive on Windows PC

Just wondering which method would be best for Roon in terms of connecting a NAS drive on a Windows PC. The NAS itself is connected to the machine via ethernet cable (via a Router - Apple Airport Extreme). Is it best to “mount” or map the NAS as a drive in Windows, or is there a better way?

I have tried both and staying with network drive using smb://xxxxxx/xxxx to point to my folders.

On windows, the difference between the two methods is minimal. Basically, if you configure it as a network drive, Roon will hold onto the authentication information, and if the drive goes away, it will attempt to re-mount + re-authenticate with the share, so you don’t have to do it manually.

Otherwise, the implementations of I/O, file watching, etc, are identical.
