I know when disconnecting an external HD from a computer that one should eject the disc before disconnecting. I use an external HD with my nucleus. I f I want to remove the external I have been powering down the nucleus and then disconnecting the drive. Is this the best way to go about this or is there a way to eject the disc like I would when it is connecting to my desktop or laptop?

There is no eject usb option in RoonOS. I think somewhere there was an official response to this same question, but, I can’t find it atm.
But, to be/feel safe, you could probably shut down RoonServer, or, disable the storage in Roon; before pulling the drive. That way you can be sure that the Server isn’t doing anything with the drive when you pull it.
